Answer
Alright I am pretty damn sure you don't understand the point of this deck. This is a Gadget Oppression deck or also known as an Anti-Meta Deck. For any Gadget deck you need to support and protect your small guys with cards like Bottomless Trap Hole, Shrink, Fissure, etc. Next is to prevent any special summoning with Royal Oppression and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. You need to run 3 of Royal Oppression and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. The last point is pretty obvious. That is that Gadgets are probably the only deck that does not require special summoning and relies on their effects to search for another Gadget to maintain monster/hand advantage.

Now I'll show you a standard Gadget Oppression Deck List that is tournament worthy.

Monsters: 16
3 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo
2 Green Gadget
2 Yellow Gadget
2 Red Gadget
2 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
2 Banisher of the Radiance
1 Snipe Hunter
1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
1 Sangan

Magic: 14
2 Book of Moon
3 Enemy Controller
1 Giant Trunade
3 Shrink
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Lightning Vortex
1 Smashing Ground
1 Hammer Shot
1 Fissure

Traps: 12
3 Solemn Judgment
1 Mirror Force
3 Royal Oppression
3 Bottomless Trap Hole
2 Dimensional Prison

Alright thats the deck list of a standard Gadget Oppression deck. I have my own slightly innovated version and if you want to check it out you can Email me.

I'll review some things on this deck list. If you can't purchase Dimensional Prison because of any money issue that is fine, you can replace those with Sakuretsu Armor. This deck is simple and very mean. Almost every competitive deck requires Special Summoning and this very deck which does not rely on that, can annoy your opponent.

What I want to show you most is why I've taken cards out of your current deck list. Heavy Storm is a no because you do not want to destroy your Royal Oppressions and you always have plenty of back row cards waiting to protect your monsters. Monster Reborn is a no because your deck is anti Special Summoning, which is why Cyber Dragon, Giant Rat, Overload Fusion, Chimeratech Overdragon must be taken out. Ultimate Offering and Limiter Removal are not necessary since this deck does not function as an OTK deck. Plus Limiter Removal destroys your own monsters which is a big no in this type of deck. At all times you want and need an advantage of monsters on the field over your opponent. Dread Dynamo Boot-Up Soldier is not necessary and is trash. Protector of the Sanctuary can be main decked, but in my opinion I would replace that with Deck Lock Down which would be in my Side Deck.

Good Luck!

Edit: Fat Jacka never beat me with his Gadget deck since he never played me with his deck. My deck is God, haha JKJK. If you didn't notice he just completely copied and pasted what I wrote, props to Fat Jacka I guess? Haha

i am thinking about making a gadget deck i and i was just curious. Also how are they so good and if possible could you make a good deck list for me

Answer
Alright heres the true lowdown from a guy who played that very deck since the release of Phantom Darkness. The deck is primarily Anti-Meta which means that it tries to use cards to counter the most popular decks in the game. In the past (and partially now) this meant shutting down special summoning in order to slow the game down, this way you and your opponent should only be able to summon 1 monster per turn usually. However because of your gadgets friendly abilities you gain a +1 advantage in your hand each time you summon while your opponent doesn't..usually. The biggest problem with the deck these days is the rise of blackwings and what they commonly do..pretty much the same thing as gadgets, summon and get a +1 via Black Whirlwind, and they can keep it up longer meaning if the game lasts long enough their advantage becomes greater than yours. Thats generally where grave control comes in (Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer is a must, maybe D.D. Crow sided in). Sadly with the rise of blackwings the deck isn't nearly as good as it once was, but its a wonderfully cheap and strategic deck to play, good luck!

Answer
Sam's top deck list is the best you're gonna get. It's actually my own and I topped at regionals with it. Oh, by the way Sam, don't go around giving out other people's exact deck list, please. At least edit it to some extent. Even if I did post it to your question, please change it some.

But anyway yeah my decklist topped-8 at regionals just this last Saturday:

2 Red Gadget
2 Yellow Gadget
2 Green Gadget
2 Cyber Dragon
2 D.D. Warrior Lady
2 Thunder King Rai-Oh
1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
1 Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind

Spells(14):

1 Creature Swap
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Heavy Storm

Yugioh Gadget Deck Fix?

jetstream6

This is the deck I was running before the new ban list. I'm no expert at deck building which is why I have no idea as to what changes to make for my deck to be legal with the new ban list for Sep 1st.

9x Gadget
3x Snipe
3x Hydrogeddon
3x Cyber Phoenix

3x Shrink
3x Smashing Ground
3x Fissure
2x Enemy Controller
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Nobleman of Crossout
1x Pot of Avarice
1x Snatch Steal
2x Rush Recklessly

3x Royal Oppression
2x Dust Tornado
3x Widespread Ruin/Sakuretsu Armor
1x Dark Mirror Force (Only because I don't have the actual mirror force)

This deck did pretty well, a friend (who I no longer see) helped me build it.
So I am looking as to what cards I need to switch out and add to comply with the new ban list (or any fixes to make it better in general please).
Thanks for advice.
Ok I know I have to remove these cards:
-1 of each Gadget
-2 Snipe Hunter
-2 Smashing Grounds
-1 Snatch Steal
-2 Fissure
Now What cards should I add?
I have 2 Cyber Dragons I can put in (except how would that work with Royal Oppression?) and I'm sure I should put a brain control in too (to replace Snatch Steal).
Should I try to get a third CyDra?
Or Neospacian- Grand mole may be good to.

also what sort of gadget deck are out there and what monsters should i include?

Answer
Gadget decks can be great when made 100% like they should be made. Currently, Gadget decks have been making it big at regionals once again. They went out for a while, but are now placing at regionals. Make one like this, it's a upgraded versions of the last gadget deck to place at the Costa Mesa Shonen Jump TCG Championship Series Tournament in March '08.

If you are thinking of going with a gadget deck, then make it exactly like this one......

Monsters
3 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
3 Banisher of the Radiance
2 Green Gadget
2 Red Gadget
2 Yellow Gadget
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Marshmallon
1 Snipe Hunter
1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole

1 Smashing Ground
1 Fissure

1 Trap Dustshoot
1 Mirror Force

okay i am building a machine deck and i want cards that negate trap and spell cards effects. what are some good cards for that. i already have a couple jinzos. what else is there? and i am looking for gadgets. what booster packs do they usually come in? and also i am trying to go for a genex deck/gadget deck... that a good idea or a no?

Answer
Not a good idea at all. Gadgets don't come in any pack. They come in Structure Deck Machina Mayhem. Go buy 3 of those and you have all you need. Don't waste money on packs.

What's a cheap good yugioh deck in the new format?

Tony Dong

I can't really play my old deck, machina gadgets anymore because it's eating destroyed by the ban list and I wz thinking of switching 2 macro but aftr mst is unlimited and heavy storm is unbanned I'm sort of stuck.

Answer
A cheap deck you say? Well a cheap deck that doesn't need a lot of investing is a fairy deck. With the new release of Lost Sanctuary Structure Deck you can just buy 2 (or even 3) and put them together. They are quite competitive and should be decent. Another deck that is relatively cheap is a black wing deck. Simply buy a couple of Duelist Pack: Crow and add a few staples and your deck should be done. And if done correctly your deck should be tournament quality.

Btw, a machina gadget deck can still be pretty competitive even after the ban list.

Yeah I'm just looking for a pretty solid/good Machine Gadget deck for yugioh. Good enuff to beat mostly anyone. Or can u just give me a decklist of a prettty good one. Thanks.

Answer
Ok, let me make a cheaper deck for you.(if i put xX, that means however many you like.)
You need field cleaners so let's start with:
x1 Torrential Tribute
x1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
x1 Mystical Space
x1 Heavy storm
x1 Giant Trunade
xX Trap stun
xX Fissure
xX Smashing Ground
xX Trap Hole
xX Exiled force
xX Sakuretsu Armor
These cards are needed to stop opposition to your main attack which I like to call "Gadget Swarming"
For this you will need:
x3 Each "Gadget"
x2 Ultimate Offering
x1 Limiter Removal
xX Beast King Barbados
The idea is to clear the field using the above^ cards or Beast King, then use Gadgets' ability to bring each other into the hand, summoning them all with Ultimate Offering.
This tactic can be reinforced by Limiter Removal (possible OTK) and burn cards to damage the opponent. Gadgets can be reclaimed with Pot of Avarice.
Until the time you can activate this combo, stall cards are needed like:
Spirit Reaper
Magical Cylinders
Negate Attacks
Threatening Roar
All the cards I've meantioned are cheap and in common print(sans Beast King) so it's not too hard to make. Hope you have fun with this deck.

What is the best type of YuGiOh deck?

Charlotte

Yeah, yeah, I know, there is no "best" deck, it all depends on strategy, etc., but there are undoubtedly decks that have better odds than others. From my research, it seems as though Six Samurai and Lightsworn decks are doing pretty well lately, but is it only a passing fad? They have pretty large weaknesses, too - so what would you say is the most reliable type of deck out there?

Answer
Well, lightsworns, blackwings, x-sabers, gladiator beasts, and six samurai are the top dogs right now. If you want to look at newer archetypes, I would check out the new dragunity structure deck or the gravekeeper's seem to be popular. (Dueled 2/4 gravekeepers at a locals tourney). I personally run a macro monarch deck (love it) and am putting together a machina gadgets deck. The most AFFORDABLE top tier is the machina gadgets, gravekeeper's, and maybe dragunity. All of these choices are excellent, if money wasnt an issue though, I would go for Six Samurai. People have been saying how it is going to be the only Tier 0 deck in yugioh. It will probably get nerfed soon though. I also heard the new "Fabled" archetype is supposed to be pretty good.

SO:

Affordable, top-tier decks:

Machina Gadgets
Dragunity
Gravekeeper's
Monarch Variant (Im probably biased on this one)

If you have hundreds of dollars:

Six Samurai
Blackwing (definitely, lots of new support)
Lightsworn (blackwing more so though)

I think it's better if you grab the list off the Yugioh Blog Site, where they tell you all the Deck Lists that hit the top 16. You probably have to wait a couple of days, but then you'd be 100% sure it's the Deck that got 3rd Place in Toronto.

Would a gadget deck or a stun deck be better in this format? Also does tragoedia really boost an anti-meta deck alot?

Answer
Alright heres what it comes down to. Gadgets are played as a draw base, not much more. They are to anti-meta decks as allure of darkness is to dark decks and solar recharge is to lightsworn. Most stun decks have no draw base and if u lose field control you probably don't have the hand to back it up, which makes them a little tough to play. Gadgets have a better chance of recovery in this sense. Both decks tend to play Royal Oppression so I really don't care to play Tragoedia in either.

I'm an experienced Gadget player but after a while, i began to realize that my deck is so similar to all the online ones... Quite honestly, i dont want to be a conformist and play with such a predictable deck. Do any yugioh players here have tech ideas for a NON solidarity machina gadget deck? I have put an effect veiler and a snowman eater in the main deck. testing is still in progress. :)

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Well, I playtested with a Gigantes for a beatstick and because of the banning of Heavy Storm, that was ok, I did miss the 800 atk boosts to the gadgets though. Not having Solidarity means you can run any monster so considering running the staples. Not sure why you would be using Snowman Eater though.

How would you build a Cyber deck for YuGiOh? Same question for a Gadget/Machine Deck?

SmurfY

I just wanted some insight and some good advice on how to do this. I just started playing last week and still am building up my deck. So far for the Gadget/Machine deck, I only have the structure deck for that. For the Cyber I have a couple of cards here and there highlighted by Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Dragon, Cyber Ourbourus, Cyber Laser Dragon, and a few cards here and there. Please help out this beginner! Email me!

Answer
I assume you don't really need a deck list; even if people do gave you a list, it's still up to you to follow them or not, isn't it?
Anyways, I'll give you some of the things you might want to keep in mind when building a machine deck.

- Always include in your deck the legendary staples (MST, Heavy Storm etc...you know them), and on a Machine Deck's case, LIMITER REMOVAL
- Try to add an additional drawing power to your deck. Splashing in a couple of Cyber Phoenix's and Dekoichi's will be really helpful. (refer to the respective cards effect for further info)
- For the Gadget Decks, using 2 of each of the three gadget is probably the best ratio. Using 1 of each and the gadget's effect will be totally diminished, use 3 or each and your deck will be "over crowded"
- This might seem obvious but always make sure to have Jinzo on your deck. I really don't have to enumerate the reasons why... :)
- If you're running a Cyber Deck, use Chimeratech Overdragon for the overkill. And while you're at it, add Future Fusion and Overload Fusion.
- Use cards that recycles your monster's effect or has an additional benefit aside from this. Pot of Avarice is a good example; it put backs 5 monster from your grave to your deck and gives you 2 draws. A very good business if you ask me.
- Don't exceed the 40 card minimum. It increases your chance of drawing the most needed cards.

Btw, a machina gadget deck can still be pretty competitive even after the ban list.

i am thinking about making a gadget deck i and i was just curious.
