yugioh meta decks 2011?

John

i just returened to yugioh and was wondering what the best decks out are now i used to run cyber dragons and played a liitle lightsworns but didnt have jd so what are the top decks now and i just heard abou xyz monsters and was wondering if they were any good

Answer
Currently, I would say the undisputed deck of the format is Tengu Synchro, utilizing the ability of Reborn Tengu to Special Summon a copy of itself from the deck and the power of the Plant Synchro Engine (Lonefire Blossom, Dandylion, Debris Dragon) or Frog Engine (Treeborn Frog, Fishborg Blaster) to pull of ridiculous combos, usually generating several big Synchro monsters (most notably T.G. Hyper Librarian combined with Formula Synchron). However, many people believe that several engines in this deck will be hit by the September 2011 Banlist.
Another powerful deck in the meta right now is Six Samurai: with the newly released Legendary Six Samurai (including a Six Samurai Synchro monster), they can swarm the field like no other deck in today. Their biggest plays come off of cards like Legenday Six Samurai - Kageki, Kagamusha of the Six Samurai, Gateway of the Six, Six Samurai United, Shien's Smoke Signal, and Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En.
Other notable decks in the meta are X-Sabers, Gravekeepers, Fairies, Gladiator Beasts, Frog Monarchs, Chaos Synchro, and Machina Gadgets.
As far as Xyz monsters go, I can see them become a massive hit, mainly because you can splash them in practically any deck. Before Xyz Summoning was released, decks such as Gladiator Beast and Machina Gadgets would be far less powerful because there aren't usually any Tuners in either of those decks (besides the occasional Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwing or Effect Veiler). Now, these decks can produce Rank 4 Xyz easily: just combine 2 Gadgets!
As the format is coming to an end, several of these decks are bound to be hit. Cards that I can see getting hit include T.G. Hyper Librarian, Formula Synchron, Gateway of the Six, Giant Trunade, Pot of Avarice, Lonefire Blossom, Dandylion, Royal Tribute, Treeborn Frog, Master Hyperion, and perhaps Reborn Tengu. The Reason that I am if-y on Reborn Tengu being hit is that currently it is a TCG-exclusive, and one one time in history has a TCG exclusive been hit (Allure of Darkness). It will most likely get hit after it is released in the OCG in 2012.

Answer
I would take out Soul Release, because it's kind of slow. I would put in a Machina Force because it's searchable by Gearframe and is a free Fortress summon. Maybe put in an Ultimate Offering or 2. It's a great way to spam gadgets and XYZ summon a lot. and if you want you could put in a Double Cyclone so you can destroy your geartown AND your opponents spell/trap card too.
