On yahoo's homepage they have that section where these is news clips updated almost every hour, where can I get an RSS feed or some type of webservice to add that to my website?

Go to google gadgets and find one their then hit add to your website. That gives you the feed for it.

I'm looking to add a side-bar to a homepage that will show the most recent updates from blogs that exist on our network. Can do this manually, but it's kind of a pain in the a$s. Wondering if anyone knows a good gadget that will make life easier.

That depends on a) whether you control the site (you can't do anything if you don't) and how the page is written. You'd have to do it manually, at least as far as writing the code. No one is going to have code that will look at your blogs. (You might want to use RSS on the blogs and grab it on the page you want to list the updated content on.)
