as i am researching stocks there was a ticker that tracked my most recent quotes aat the bottom, now it's not there. Don't know how to get it back new to this page.

You need to download a widget. You must have had one before, if it was there.
Here is an example of a widget. But I'm always leery of free downloads. Use them at your own risk.

But before you do, you didn't say what Windows Operating System you are running on your computer. Is it Windows 7?
If so then right click on an empty area of your desktop and select Gadgets. Here, do a search for anything of stock quotes or stock ticker.

windows sidebar stock gadget for XP?
Q. I have XP, hubby has vista. He gets this windows sidebar stock gadget. Is there anything similar that I can get to look at specific stocks regularly?

Yahoo! toolbars probably have something like that. I use it only for weather clock and calendar, but people are always adding more. It's the best add-on toolbar for XP that I've tried.
