Personally, my $40 cell phone works just fine...
So does my desktop computer.

I see all my friends hassling with all their new gadgets and shouting at operated phone help lines and I just have to wonder what makes them bother with it all...
Here's what I'm talking about:

People are going crazy with all this crap... and these things are supposed to make life easier!

Answer
I still have an "old-fashioned" 35 mm camera (not digital). I didn't get a new cell phone until my old one died of VERY old age (it was one of the first models). We didn't get "call display" until just recently, though I must say, with a household of 5, and too many unwanted phone calls, it is the best "new gadget" in my opinion. I don't even like new fashion until it's old already! But I do live in a family where the father is VERY high-tech (works on computers for a living), and the middle child (13) is very into fashion. So I'm influenced by the new trends because of who I live with. But I tend to be old-fashioned, and find that good enough most of the time. Like you said, the new gadgets can take too long to figure out. Not worth the trouble (unless someone figures them out for me -- I hate reading instructions!) -- Char
