good gadget insurance image

Lizzie
Soon going to be spending one year+ in France and need to find some sort of gadget insurance for my Mac, iPhone and camera etc.. but that also would cover me at home for a few months before/after going.
Really struggling to find a solution. It seems gadget insurance won't cover me abroad for more than a few months at a time. But travel insurance doesn't give me the same cover, often the contents insurance within it is very minimal and doesn't cover loss, accidental spillage etc..
Any suggestions would be great?
Answer
I'd suggest that you go with cheaper gadgets that you can afford to replace if you lose them, because the cost of "worldwide" gadget insurance is probably going to be prohibitive.

Why do people complain about the cost of healthcare and insurance?

NOOOOOOOOO
and yet they still buy plasma TVs, have cable and cell phones and every other gadget imaginable? Many people in our area say they can't afford healthcare- but they find money for these things. Why should I subsidize someone's health care so they can afford cable?
Answer
My income is less than $1000 per month. I don't have cable or satellite TV. I cannot afford it. I have a small 17" television that I bought at a garage sale. I get three broadcast channels. Of course, that's going to stop working when they switch everything over to digital. I use the internet at the library. I cannot afford to pay for my own. I don't have a cell phone. I have a computer that's six years old. My car is a broken down pick-up with almost 200,000 miles on it. I live in the desert and cannot afford to run my air conditioner. (We topped out at 116 degrees this summer.) I spend less than $200 per month on food.
Health insurance? It is totally out of reach for me and millions of Americans like me. If I get seriously ill, I guess I'll just have to die because I cannot afford medical care.
Do you have any notion how much of your money is susidizing corporate profits with this war? How much of your money is spent subsidizing corporations that send our jobs to Asia? I can see how you wouldn't want to also subsidize health care for needy Americans. I'm sure subsidizing those corporate profits makes you a much better person.
Thank you.
