Are there any new - not too expensive - electronic gadgets out? I don't know what I want to get for Birthday for my teen brother,I was thinking along the lines of webcam, new phone, pay half for laptop etc.

If your budget is not too small, i would finally recommend you a notebook, that will not only a cool gadget but can also help your brother in studies.

I would like to thank some of the great people who help me get and/or execute contracts by offering them high-tech gifts like an iPod, or a digital camera. For tax purposes, can I consider these gifts as marketing expenses and deduct them as such on my Schedule C? If so, is there any limitation on the price of each of those gifts (a digital camera is in the $200-$300 range, same with an iPod)?

The holidays are right around the corner and I'm looking for a Christmas gift to give to my boyfriend. He's into a lot of gadgets and electronics and honestly, I'd love to give him something amazing but I also don't want to give him something that he's not going to like too much. I have never been to a bridal shower before, I have no idea what to get my cousin as a gift. (it has come to my understanding that you bring gifts to bridal showers and money to weddings) I haven't the slightest idea what to get her, or even what type of gift would be appropriate!! Have you asked if they are registered somewhere? If so that would be the easiest thing, just pick something off there in your price range. If not then it's typically something for the home. If they have an established home and you don't think you could find something they would like then gift cards could work too, typically some department store or like a bed, bath, and beyond place. The typical gifts I see at showers at pots & pans, towels, kitchen gadgets, bedding, picture frames, vases....those are usually picked off a registry though. It's considered rude to put registry info on an invite so call and ask someone if they are registered anywhere. Save you some stress.

A friend from Japan is here and is only going to stay for a week. We're going shopping thurday and she wants some sort of American gadget or suvinour. Something that we have here but not at Japan. It's sad that I can't think of anything. Can you think of any? It can't be too big or heavy to carry, since she's going all the way back to Japan.

We are in our mid 20s and in the past few years leading up to now we never really did the "gift" thing. We just took it upon ourselves to buy each other something what we wanted at that moment.
This year I want to do something different. I want to surprise him with a gift. I will be gifting him with something that is specific to his likes, BUT....

It is hard to say with out knowing the guy. You know better then any of us what he likes.

Speaking as a man in general terms, I like gadgets and video games. I don't usually like jewlery or getting clothes from her. I like it when she gets me a cologne she likes me to wear because it usually means she is all over me when I wear it. I like it when she gets me something I've said I had my eye on in the past because it means she cared enough to remember it.

Also, extra special anniversary sex is a must. Hopefully you already have plans in that department.
