Windows 7 desktop gadgets problem?

I used to have the clock and the calendar gadgets and I started having problems with my ipod and stuff and I installed some updates and did a system restore and now they're gone and when I go to the control panel and the gadgets thing nothing pops up when I click it. I went to install more gadgets online, but none of the standard ones were on there. what can I do to fix this?
yeah I tried the right click thing, and I don't think the system restore will work. I guess i can give it a try

I experience bugs with windows 7 every day. The best thing to do might be to do a complete system recover and install updates again. To get the gadgets you should right click on the desktop and click gadgets. try that first before recovery.
