My teacher gave me this hypothetical $10,000 and we have to do some stock investing on yahoo.finance. But how can I decide which stocks I should pick, like if it's a good stock or bad stock. I mean if the price is going up or down? Also, how many stocks should I pick to do for the moment?
For a start, should I choose this stock-Forest Oil Corp (FST)?

Stay clear of stocks that are older than 30 years and have less than 25K investors. they aren't usually growing, and you'd have to a visionary inorder to make them work,
Don't invest in stocks that have an APR financing index of 23.9% or more. you'll pay more to invest than you'll actually make.
Don't invest in oil stocks like BP-oil, Or sunoco, these aren't trending sepecially with the current rise in green oil suroces, like coal and sun powered vehicales.
Make sure the stock you invest in is needed by at least 1/6 of the populous. food, gadgets, vehicle, anything to do with entertainment.

How to update Stock gadget in Vista 64?

I installed the Stock Market gadget in my Vista 64 program sidebar, but have noticed that the only time it updates is when I first boot up the computer or anytime I re-boot. Anyone know how to keep this gadget updating itself periodically?
No. It's the gadget that you add in Vista 64 Sidebar. It comes with Vista Home Premium.
