For example: I wanted to only use gmail rather than also using igoogle. So I tried to put the same weather gadget I used in igoogle in gmail. But it didn't work.
Is there any way to get past that, by changing the code in the gadget?

You can't drag any gadgets into gmail. If you want to view a weather gadget then install google desktop. Don't know about Mac, but Ubuntu and Windows Vista and 7 all have built in gadgets.

Gmail workaround?

My work has just blocked gmail. Is there a work around that I am missing? I can log into My Account, but can not access my mail!

Do the following. First, get both a Yahoo! Messenger with Voice account (yourname@yahoo.com) and a Google Talk account (yourname@gmail.com)--download both. Second, download Google Desktop and attach as a sidebar on your desktop (place as a taskbar icon and rightclick for sidebar & other options). Third, send your new Yahoo with Voice email to your new gmail account. And last, goto Add Gadgets (Add+) at the top of sidebar and add Google Talk. Now you're fully integrated (with additional Messengers) and not prevented on any screen. laura
