I recently passed my 1st year and my parents told me that you can buy any gadget up to Rs.5000. I need a gadget which will be helpful to me in my hostel. I already own a cellphone so I think mp3 player will do no good. Please help me if you know any new gadget in the market.

Which new Gadget? It all depends on what you want! If it's just music, go with the mp3. If you have a blackberry and love youtube, go with the playbook. If you got nothing....I hate to say it, but go with the ipad. However...you can get a netbook for less than $200 that will give you more than you ever thought, and gets free wifi at most McDonalds!

I already have a PS3, xbox 360, wii, plasma tv, 5.1 surround sound, gaming pc etc and dont know what to save up for and buy next?
Considered an ipod or psp or ds or pheraps something similar but not fully sure.

It seems that you have a lot of electronics going on there. I'm not sure how you handle all the audio inputs but an audio mixer could do a very good job.

iPod vs PSP
The only reason I would buy an iPod over the PSP would be because I want to hear music for long periods of time. The PSP can do about the same, but the battery life won't last as long. Yes, touch interfaces are nice but the PSP is the king of gaming.

The DS is like a combination of both, but I wouldn't buy it since you have a PS3 and you could use the PSP in conjunction with it.
