Best bike for adult female?

I haven't riden a bike (the kind you pedal) in like 15 years - I'm 34 now. My old "10 speed" (do they still call them that anymore?) needs major work, so I figure it's time for a new bike. I'm overwhelmed. What kind of bike should I get - I'm female, good leg muscles, just plan on riding each day for about an hour or two mainly on back roads and some minor "off road" for fun. I don't need anything with fancy gadgets, and my husband is a vehicle lighting expert, so I don't need lights on it out of the box (he'll take care of that). I sort of don't care about price, but I don't want a Cadillac type. Links to the specific bikes you recommend are appreciated.

I want a fast pocket bike?

looks dont count, color, gadgets i dont care i want a pocket bike to go fast. and as cheap as possible

pocket bikes are the worst thing to buy they usually break within a week i had one and the whole thing snapped in half and the motor blew up and that was 400 dollars i didnt even bother trying to fix it and they are very hard to control since they are so small.
