What could you absolutely not have lived without when your baby was born?

I am going to a friends baby shower next friday and I am wanting to get her something that maybe other people didn't think of. I got her a big box of size 1 diapers, some wipes, and some breast pads since she is breastfeeding. I know that seems like enough but I would really like to get her something else. She already seems to have everything though since she already has one baby shower. Maybe making her something? She is having a girl.

Get her something to help pamper herself, or even offer to come over and make her dinner or do her dishes. Seriously - babies need so very little (despite what the makers of all these bottle warmers and baby positioners make you want to think) so skip out on the gadgets and offer to help. If you want to give her her space, then a gift card for food delivery or something along those lines.

I'm expecting a baby,and high levels of radiation were detected near my home. What should I do?

We live close to all of our neighbours and near power lines etc. A police man detected the radiation with his gadget and asked if anyone near by is having radiation treatments for cancer. My little one has also been breaking out in strange bumpy skin rashes ( although this could be allergies.) Otherwise we feel fine. Should I be concerned? No one knows where it's coming from.

You need more information than a "policeman with his gadget." Call local agencies (Health Dept., EPA, and your local government) and find out if there really is a problem before you panic, put your home up for sale, etc.
