How do i download gadgets for the Windows Vista Sidebar?

i want to download gadgets from the website the computer offers, but when i download them, they don't show up anywhere on the pop up thing that allows you to click them and put them on the sidebar.

I have put them all in my downloads folder and my documents folder and they still don't show up... but they are there in the folders.
Any help? is there a specific place im supposed to put these?

The side bar in VIsta is the first thing you should disable along with the UAC. Do you enjoy your computer to go slow?
