gadget good sound image

I get the following message while trying to run Gizmos & Gadgets:
"The MIDI driver for your sound card could not be found. Make sure that the correct sound card drivers are installed before restarting Gizmos & Gadgets. Consult your sound cards's documentation for additional information."
It won't let me run the program without it. What should I do?

Which is a better gadget for the story ?
Q. Ok i wrote this small science fantasy stories, the original and its sequel, with their sub themes as action and adventure. In original story's ending, we find out that the main character and 18 year old teenager, has dreamed the whole 'adventure' she's been through, but this dream, which wasn't just a 'dream', but a dream that changed her life and the relation of her oldest brother for the good.
In the sequel, which is more dark nature, she is a grown successful superstar athlete and she wished she could have a dream like that again, but she never did. In the new neighborhood she has moved into, she meets a 17 year old scientific genius, who made a 'dream' invention thingy, that enabled you to have a dream, you once had again, if it meant too much to you, so she was excited to enter her dream again.
Now i have come up with two gadgets, but i'm not sure which is better to use, but they aren't original coz there are other films or books that have used it.. but its not about the gadget, its more about the storyline in her dream...
Ok now for the gadgets... 1) A dream scanner- Its like a small machine thingy with a screen and wires. You connect the wires to the forehead, it scans your dream and you must then try to sleep, so you can enter again into the dream, while your body is in a sleeping state.
2) a dream portal- its like a doorway, with a small machine thingy next to it. You connect the wires to the forehead, it scans your dream, then gets displayed on the screen and the portal activates, where you can step in and enter your dream in physical form as opposed to the dream scanner, where you are in a sleeping state.
So which is a better gadget to use ??? Or let me know of a dream gadget that sounds original, so i can get more creative and make it more original.

Throw the entire first story out and use it as a back story in the second story, because stories that turn out to be dreams are lame. The second story will work if you make her real life so miserable that she longs to escape back into the dreams.
You don't need a gadget. All you do to repeat a dream is to think about it before you fall asleep.
